Michael Wodka, D.P.M.
Dr. Michael L. Wodka is a Board-Certified podiatrist, and has been in practice since 1980. He
maintains an office in Middletown, New York, and sees patients of all ages,
from infants to seniors. He treats a variety of pedal pathologies including ingrown toenails,
diabetic foot care, warts, bunions, gait abnormalities, heel pain, fungus toenails, fractures,
sprains, and virtually any type of foot/ankle problem. He was been well-respected for being candid
with his patients regarding diagnosis and treatment recommendations, always stressing conservative care as his primary approach. He enjoys a
relationship with numerous patients who have been coming to him for so many years that
he considers them his friends. He knows his craft quite well, and has been a spokesman for
podiatry for his entire professional career. He takes every opportunity to educate the public that
podiatrists are the doctors to see for a foot problem, because they are specialists with the expertise to care for that part of the
human anatomy. He continues to diligently bring focus to the realization that a podiatrist should be as synonymous with the foot as a cardiologist is with the heart, an ophthalmologist with the eye, and a dentist with teeth
He began cultivating his leadership abilities by being the youngest President of the New York
State Podiatric Medical Association (NYSPMA), having chaired various committees. Dr.
Wodka is an innovator, having been a catalyst in the development of many programs within his
profession, such as the establishment of the first ever AFL-CIO union entitled, The
First National Guild of Medical Providers for the Lower Extremity. Dr. Wodka presently serves as its First Vice-
President, and serves as an advocate for union doctors, battling the insurance industry. During his tenure, he founded an
organization of state podiatry associations called the Alliance, whose purpose was to share
information in a cooperative and interactive basis.
Dr. Wodka initiated a successful Shoes for the Needy campaign in the Mid Hudson region in January of 2000. Thousands of pairs of shoes are collected for the underprivileged and distributed to the needy through various relief agencies. Each year, the Shoes for the Needy Drive, with Dr. Wodka as its chairman, has enjoyed greater success with increased community involvement.
He is the creator, executive producer and host of a medical talk show, "Health Matters", which airs every Thursday on AM1110 WTBQ, an ABC Affiliate, out of Florida, N.Y. It is his hope that the residents of Orange County will gain a better understanding of matters that affect their lives by listening to local medical professionals discussing health issues.
